Trump real estate course

Most beginning entrepreneurs associate real estate with high realtor income, high profit margins transactions with relatively little work and investment involved on their part. This idea of get-rich-quickly-in-real-estate was largely perpetuated by real estate gurus who are willing share “hidden secrets” of how to generate income using “clever” techniques to flip properties, find investors, invest in rentals, buy low – sell high formulas and other.

Here is the latest from the colorful figure known as real estate mogul and wizard, Donald Trump. The media darling has been slapped with class action law suit accusing his “online business school” aka Trump University being a highly priced rip off.

California’s fashion designer, Tarla Makaef ended up spending over $80,000 most of which came from credit cards on Trump’s education. According to claimant, her pursuit of real estate riches has resulted in very little knowledge of real estate and a large personal debt.

She was guaranteed a personal mentor and a highly valued personal Donald Trump’s apprentice status.

Things didn’t work the way they were presented to an aspiring realtor and her education resulted in supervised trips to Home Depot to learn about fixer-upper supplies and meeting individuals who were supposed to be her mentors but according to her were pitching her self-serving deals an failed to follow up on their promises and even return her calls.

Ms. Makaef has stated that she relied on Trump’s name and reputation when she was investing $34,995 to obtain a prestigious “Trump Gold Elite membership.”

The lawsuit was filed in San Diego and Trump is not included in the lawsuit personally. The President of Trump’s University, Sexton denies the charges and stated that claimant has received all the training she signed up for and they have a video recording where she testified that she is satisfied with the course.

This is a great lesson for all those who want to start their real estate career or accelerate the existing one. Realtor career is a serious business that has nothing to do with hype. Is Donald Trump the best teacher to teach real estate agents and investors how to make money? Hardly, he is busy with TV appearances and his own business dealings. Is his University a real one? Not according to the state’s Education Department which had demanded that Trump’s program to stop calling itself a university because of the violation of educational law.
